Questions, troubleshooting, or feedback? Here's a good place to start.
How do I make a new sound?
Open Create, select a Root and an Effect, adjust the controls, and preview the result. Save your favorites when you find something you like.
Can I import my own sounds?
Use the app's import feature to select an audio file. Supported formats depend on the version installed; check the import picker for current options.
What does Surprise Me do?
It combines a random Root and Effect sound, gives the result a playful name, and plays it. Use Back and Forward to revisit recent combinations.
How do Sound Groups work?
On Home, select the Sound Groups you want Surprise Me to use for its Root sound. Groups come from the first word of a sound filename. Effects are still chosen from the full eligible Effect pool. Use Select All to restore every group.
Can I record and edit audio?
Yes. Record sounds with your microphone and use the waveform editor to trim or fade audio before saving it to your library.
Can I go back to a previous Surprise Me result?
Use the Back and Forward controls on Home to revisit recent combinations during your session.
Where are my sounds stored?
Imported and created sounds are managed by the app on your device. Back up important exports separately before deleting or reinstalling the app.
Why isn't a sound appearing in Surprise Me?
Check its library memberships and the selected Sound Groups on Home. Surprise Me chooses Roots from enabled groups and Effects from the Effect pool. Freeplay-only sounds are not selected automatically.
